Provence chic theme wedding in the Var
Provencal wedding reception at Domaine de la Bégude
In June 2019, Agathe and Mathei said yes to each other in the middle of nature, lost in the middle of vineyards, olive trees and cicadas. Organised on the edge of the South of France, in the magnificent Domaine de la Bégude, their Provençal wedding was celebrated under a huge Stretch tent of nomadic inspiration.
A provence themed wedding in a wine estate
Our lovers chose to celebrate their union at the Domaine de la Bégude, a vast wine-growing area of over 500 hectares. Located between Toulon and Marseille, the estate is close to typical Provençal villages surrounded by vineyards, and the grapes extracted from these productions will be used to make Bandol wine, the famous A.O.C. The location offers an ideal setting for an event with an exceptional view of the vineyards and the Mediterranean Sea. Not far away is the sublime medieval village of Le Castellet and the famous Paul Ricard racetrack.
It is in this dream setting in the middle of the pine trees and the typical scrubland of the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region that Agathe and Mathei wanted a structure that would fit in perfectly with the place. We quickly opted for a beige Stretch tent of 300 m2. With its eucalyptus wood poles and nomadic spirit, it was a perfect match for a Provencal-themed wedding and the 500 green and fragrant hectares of the estate. Offering a 3D plan of the tent's interior layout - the location of tables, the size of banquets and the caterer's presence - Atawa also took care of all the lighting: garlands and spotlights inside, and the lighting of the path leading to the tent.
Between olive trees and white roses: a chic Provence atmosphere
The bride and groom chose an elegant and natural decoration for this wedding in the middle of the garrigue. The banquet tables were covered with pretty white tablecloths, then dressed in a refined decoration. Small olive trees in pots were placed in the centre of the tables, as well as crystal vases filled with wild flowers and white roses. Contributing to the elegant Provençal atmosphere, the bride and groom opted for pretty white square chairs covered with cakes for added comfort.
A Provençal reception in an unusual domain
Having said that, wanting to create an original event in the middle of nature can sometimes hold a few surprises, especially when it is a rather unusual site. In this case, the exact location chosen by Agathe and Mathei in the Domaine de la Bégude for the evening had never before hosted a reception, or even a tent... The place was nevertheless so beautiful that everything was done to make the newlyweds' dream come true.
Our teams rolled up their sleeves to carry out an in-depth study of the relatively rocky ground and the surrounding nature. This project required specific human and technical resources to anchor the tent safely in the rock. We also had to level the 300 m2 of floor and run a 125-metre long cable from the estate to supply the event with electricity, while of course making sure it was camouflaged. It was a painstaking job that was well worth it, as you can see from the dazzling smiles on the faces of the bride and groom and their guests.
